Description

Novigan composition and form of release
It is produced in the form of film-coated tablets. The drug is made on the basis of – ibuprofen, pitofenone hydrochloride, fenpiverinium bromide.

Indications
Novigan is indicated for the relief of moderate pain syndrome in spasm of smooth muscles of internal organs, such as renal, intestinal, hepatic or biliary colic, as well as biliary dyskinesia. In addition, the drug can be used to reduce the intensity of pain in dysmenorrhea, headaches, pain in joints and muscles, neuralgia and sciatica.

Contraindications
Novigan is not prescribed with increased sensitivity to its components, ulcerative and erosive lesions of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, inflammatory bowel diseases. Also, the drug is not used if the patient has previously had rhinitis, urticaria, bronchial obstruction caused by the use of salicylic acid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Novigan is not recommended for patients suffering from prostatic hyperplasia, bleeding disorders, recent aortic valve bypass surgery, optic nerve damage, as well as pregnant, lactating and children under 16 years of age.

Children
It is used in pediatrics for children over 16 years old.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Novigan is not indicated for pain relief in pregnant women. When using the drug for the treatment of women in the lactation stage, it is necessary to refuse breastfeeding.

Method of administration and dosage
Novigan is taken orally 4 times a day. A single dose depends on the age and the presence of concomitant diseases in the patient. When treating adults and children over 15 years of age, 2 tablets are prescribed, from 12 to 14 years old – 1.5 tablets each, from 8 to 11 years old – 1 tab., From 5 to 7 years old – 0.5 tab.

Overdose
If, during use, the dose was accidentally or intentionally increased, then it is recommended to seek help from a medical institution. An overdose of Novigan may be accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, acute liver failure, increased drowsiness, depression, headaches, tinnitus, acute liver failure, decreased blood pressure, decreased heart rate, acidosis, emotional lethargy, gastrointestinal bleeding, atria, the development of coma and respiratory arrest.
To improve the patient’s condition, they carry out gastric lavage, provide enterosorbents, forced diuresis, abundant alkaline drinking and symptomatic therapy.

Side effects
Short-term administration of the drug is well tolerated by patients. However, with prolonged treatment with the drug, it is possible to develop ulcerative and erosive lesions of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, allergic reactions such as pruritus, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, bronchospasm and anaphylactic shock.

Storage conditions and periods
Store the drug in a dark place at a temperature of about 25 degrees. The shelf life reaches 5 years.
