Description
Ostemax composition
The main active ingredient is alendronic acid 70 mg, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide are designated as auxiliary substances.
Release form
It is produced in the form of oblong white tablets, biconvex.
A cardboard box contains 1 blister of 4 tablets.
Pharmacological properties
Ostemax tablets are a remedy that has an effective effect on the structure and mineralization of bones. In the course of treatment with tablets, normal bone tissue is formed, and calcium leaching from the bones is prevented. Not metabolized in the body.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in childhood and in patients with increased susceptibility to the constituent components of the drug. Also, with hypocalcemia, diseases of the esophagus (stricture or achalasia), which cause a delay in the withdrawal of the contents of the esophagus. If the patient, for any reason, cannot stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes.
Children
Not used in pediatrics.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated for pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Method of administration and dosage
Ostemax is taken once a week, one tablet. The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor. The tablet should be taken half an hour before the first meal, washed down with plenty of water (at least one glass) and not chewed, always after the patient got out of bed. After taking the patient, the patient must be in a horizontal position for at least half an hour, and the drug is not taken before going to bed.
The drug should be taken on the same day of the week.
Overdose
In case of an overdose of the drug, hypocalcemia, hypophosphatemia, heartburn, esophagitis, gastritis, ulcers, and indigestion may occur. In case of an overdose, the patient should be given antacids or milk to drink. To avoid irritation of the esophagus, vomiting should not be induced, and the patient should not lie down.
Side effects
Taking the drug can cause side effects: esophagitis, dysphagia, uveitis, scleritis, pain in muscles, bones and joints. It may also be accompanied by headache, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence. Allergic reactions are possible, such as: urticaria, rash, itching, redness, photodermatosis, symptomatic hypocalcemia, angioedema. Sometimes nausea, vomiting, melena, esophageal stricture, gastritis, ulcers in the esophagus and oral cavity also occur.
Storage conditions and periods
Store Ostemax in its original packaging at room temperature, which does not exceed + 25 degrees Celsius, away from children, in a dry and dark place. The shelf life is no more than 36 months.
