Description

Pantenol composition
The main active ingredient is dexpanthenol. The composition also includes auxiliary components, including glycerin, white soft paraffin, lanolin, mineral light oil, paraffin, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, purified water.

Release form
It is produced in the form of an ointment for topical use, packed in tubes of 30 grams. 1 gram of the drug contains 50 milligrams of dexpanthenol.

Pharmacological properties
Local drug Pantenol , which belongs to a group of drugs that promote wound healing. Its main active ingredient is dexpanthenol (provitamin B5).
It actively promotes the stimulation of the tissue regeneration process.
Once in the skin cells, it quickly turns into pantothenic acid, which is a component of coenzyme, playing an important role in the metabolism of each cell. Pantothenic acid is therefore essential for the protection, formation and healing of damaged skin and mucous membranes.

Indications
Designed to treat skin lesions, including:

  • for prophylactic treatment of dry, reddened or cracked skin;
  • to accelerate the healing and epithelialization of the skin (minor burns and wounds);
  • in case of skin irritation, including due to radiation therapy, phototherapy or exposure to ultraviolet rays;
  • skin disorders – abrasions, cracks, burns, aseptic postoperative wounds, trophic ulcers, bedsores, cracks in the nipples of the mammary glands, diaper rash;
  • with diaper dermatitis, anal fissures, cervical erosion and after skin transplantation;
  • for treating the skin after using corticosteroids.

Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid. It has the ability to regenerate mucous membranes, normalize cell metabolism, accelerate mitosis and strengthen collagen fibers. It has a regenerating, vitaminizing and anti-inflammatory effect.
The body’s need for pantothenic acid increases with damage to the skin or tissues. This deficiency can be compensated for with the help of topical application of dexpanthenol, since this substance has the property of intensively penetrating all layers of the skin.

Contraindications
Not applicable if the patient has hypersensitivity (allergy) to one of the components of the drug.
Care should be taken to ensure that the drug does not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of warm water.

Children
It can be used at any age, even for newborns.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
This drug is used with caution in any trimester of pregnancy.
