Pregadol (Pregabalin) Capsules 150 mg
Ingredients:
- Each capsule contains 150 mg of pregabalin.
Dosage:
- The usual dose is 150 mg per day, divided into two or three smaller doses.
Indications:
- Pregadol is indicated for managing neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia.
Contraindications:
- Avoid using Pregadol if allergic to pregabalin or any other capsule ingredient.
Directions:
- Swallow the capsules whole with water; do not crush or chew them.
Mechanism of Action:
- Pregabalin binds to the alpha2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing excitatory neurotransmitter release and modulating pain signaling.
Scientific Evidence:
- Clinical trials have shown the efficacy of pregabalin in managing neuropathic pain. For example, a study by Rosenstock et al. (2004) demonstrated pain score reduction and improved sleep in diabetic neuropathy patients.
Additional Information:
- Exercise caution in patients with substance abuse history due to potential for abuse. Pregadol may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until effects are known.
- Consult a healthcare provider before use if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor of all current medications to prevent interactions.
