Psoriaten Composition
The main active ingredient is an extract of the plant Mahonia aquifolium.
Release form
It is produced in the form of a medicinal ointment, in tubes with a volume of 50 grams, while 1 gram of the drug contains 100 mg of the extract of the Magonia holly plant.
Pharmacological properties
Psoriaten belongs to a group of topically applied homeopathic remedies.
The main active ingredient is an extract of the plant Magonia holly, of the barberry family, growing on the North American and Asian continents. Topical application of this drug helps to relieve symptoms in the event of skin inflammation, including neurodermatitis, allergic skin reactions or psoriasis, which are accompanied by scaling and scaling. When applying the drug, the skin is moisturized and soothed. After a longer use, the redness of the skin disappears, as well as the swelling that accompanies it, the inflammatory process subsides.
Regular use as a prophylactic agent prevents the appearance of recurrent foci of the disease.
Indications
Psoriaten is used for local treatment of skin diseases accompanied by itching, redness, and peeling. In particular, it is effective for:
- psoriasis, neurodermatitis;
- dry skin, accompanied by flaking with the formation of scales.
It is also used as a symptomatic treatment after insect bites.
Contraindications
The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or one of the auxiliary components.
With a protracted course of the disease or unclear, new observed complaints or with severe inflammation of the skin, purulent skin lesions, or hyperthermia, the patient should consult a doctor about further use of the drug.
Contact with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds should be avoided.

Children
It can be used in pediatrics from the age of 1.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
The drug should not be administered during pregnancy.

Method of administration and dosage
The drug Psoriaten is used topically, applying it 3 times a day to the affected areas.
When applied, the drug is rubbed in a circular motion.
After applying the ointment, wash your hands with soap and water.
Due to its good tolerance, Psoriaten ointment can be used for a long time. If, after four weeks of treatment with the drug, no therapeutic effect is observed, the patient should consult a doctor.
The duration of treatment for the disease depends on the individual reaction to the drug, the patient’s condition and is established by the attending physician.
Overdose
Overdose has not been observed at the moment and is unlikely with the correct use of the drug.
Side effects
When treating with this drug, side effects may occur only in case of manifestation of an individual intolerance to the drug.
In particular, there may be:
- nausea, diarrhea, vomiting;
- allergic urticaria, erythema, contact dermatitis, burning sensation;
- other manifestations of allergic reactions.
Cetostearyl alcohol, which is part of the excipients, can cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis). In this case, the patient should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
Storage conditions and periods
Expiration date – no more than 5 years from the production date indicated by the manufacturer on the package.
The storage temperature of Psoriaten should not exceed 25 ° C.
