Sinupret is a complex herbal preparation. It has secretolytic, anti-inflammatory, decongestion, immunostimulating and antiviral effects. The drug increases sensitivity to antibiotic therapy. Sinupret is used for acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the sinuses.

Composition

active substances: 1 tablet contains dried herbs in powder form:

  • gentian root (Radix Gentianae) 6 mg;
  • primrose flowers with a calyx (Flores Primulae sum Calucibus) 18 mg;
  • sorrel herbs (Herba Rumicis) 18 mg;
  • elder flowers (Flores Sambuci) 18 mg;
  • verbena herbs (Nerba Verbena) 18 mg;

Excipients: calcium carbonate (E 170), castor oil, colloidal anhydrous silica, acrylate copolymer, gelatin, glucose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium oxide light, aluminum hydroxide, copper chlorophyllin (E 141), riboflavin (E 101) , dextrin, montan glycol wax, potato starch, purified water, shellac, sorbitol (E 420), stearic acid, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), indigo carmine (E 132).

Dosage form

Coated tablets.

Main physical and chemical properties: round biconvex tablets, coated with a green color with a smooth surface.

Pharmacological properties

The components of the herbal medicine have a complex activity, which is manifested in secretolytic action, anti-edema, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulatory and antiviral effects.

The active ingredients of Sinupret tablets inhibit the reproduction of various respiratory viruses, such as influenza A, parainfluenza and RSV (respiratory syncytial viruses).

Under the influence of the drug Sinupret tablets secretion is regulated and tissue edema is reduced. Drainage and ventilation of the paranasal sinuses are restored, nasal congestion is eliminated, and the protective function of the airway epithelium is normalized. The effectiveness of antibiotic therapy increases.

Indication

Acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to any of the active or auxiliary components of the drug, to other species of primroses, as well as peptic ulcer.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

During pregnancy or breastfeeding, the drug should be used with caution and only after a clear diagnosis and assessment of the benefit to the mother and the risk to the fetus (child).

Method of application and dosage

Unless your doctor prescribes otherwise, adults and children over 12 years of age should take 2 tablets 3 times a day, children aged 6 to 11 years – 1 tablet 3 times a day.

The Sinupret tablets should be swallowed without chewing, with plenty of fluids.

Usually the recommended course of treatment is 7-14 days.

Children

Due to lack of experience, it is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age. For the treatment of preschool children (up to 6 years), who are prescribed lower doses, Sinupret should be used in the form of drops or syrup.

Overdose

Cases of overdose are currently unknown. If the dose is exceeded, these side effects may increase – in this case you should see a doctor.

If you take doses in excess of the recommended, you should inform your doctor to decide on the necessary measures.

Side effects

Gastrointestinal disorders, including stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort, are uncommon. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur, including rash, redness, itching, hives, Quincke’s edema, shortness of breath, and swelling of the face.

At any manifestations of side effects it is necessary to stop use of drug and to address to the doctor.
