Sinupret is a complex herbal preparation. It has secretolytic, anti-inflammatory, decongestion, immunostimulating and antiviral effects. The drug increases sensitivity to antibiotic therapy. Sinupret is used for acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the sinuses.

Sinupret (gentian root) oral drops 100 ml. vial
Composition
active substances: 100 g of drops contain 29 g of extract (1:11) of gentian root; primrose flowers with a calyx; sorrel herbs; elder flowers; verbena herbs (1: 3: 3: 3: 3), ethanol extractant 59% (v / v);
excipient: purified water.
The ethanol content is 19% (v / v).
Dosage form
Oral drops.
Main physical and chemical properties: clear or slightly turbid liquid of yellow-brown color, with a fragrant smell. Turbidity or precipitation may occur during storage.

Pharmacological properties
The components of the herbal medicine have a complex activity, which is manifested in secretolytic action, anti-edema, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulatory and antiviral effects.
The active ingredients of Sinupret drops inhibit the reproduction of various respiratory viruses, such as influenza A, parainfluenza and RSV (respiratory syncytial viruses).
Under the influence of the drug secretion is regulated and tissue edema is reduced. Drainage and ventilation of the paranasal sinuses are restored, nasal congestion is eliminated, the protective function of the airway epithelium is normalized. The effectiveness of antibiotic therapy increases.
Indication
Acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the active or excipients of the drug, to other species of primroses, as well as peptic ulcer.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
Interaction with other drugs was not observed. Combination with antibiotics is possible and appropriate.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
During pregnancy or breastfeeding, the drug can be used after consultation with a doctor if the benefits outweigh the potential risk to the fetus / child.
Method of application and dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the drug should be used in the following doses:
- Children aged 2 to 5 years – 45 drops (3 times 15 drops), which is equivalent to 2.7 ml;
- Children aged 6 to 11 years – 75 drops (3 times 25 drops), which is equivalent to 4.5 ml;
- Children over 12 years and adults – 150 drops (3 times 50 drops), which is equivalent to 9 ml.
Adults take the Sinupret drops, usually undiluted or, if desired, with the required amount of fluid. Sinupret drops should be used in diluted form for children and can be added to juice or tea to hide the bitter taste.
Usually the recommended course of treatment is 7-14 days, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.
Children
Due to lack of experience, the drug should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
Overdose
Cases of overdose are currently unknown. If the dose is exceeded, the occurrence of these side effects may increase.
Treatment: symptomatic therapy is required in case of poisoning or overdose.
Side effects
Gastrointestinal disorders, including stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort, are uncommon. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur, including rash, redness of the skin, itching, hives, Quincke’s edema, shortness of breath, and swelling of the face.
If you experience any side effects, you should stop using the drug and see a doctor.
After first opening the vial, the drug is suitable for use for 3 months.
