Smectosorb dietary supplement can be used in dietary diets as an enterosorbent, a source of zeolite of natural origin, helps to stabilize the mucous barrier of the gastrointestinal tract and remove toxic substances from the body.

Composition
1 packet (sachet) contains the main substance – diosmectite – 2.5 g.
Excipients: filler glucose, monohydrate; sweetener sodium saccharin; vanillin flavor.
Dosage form
Powder for oral suspension.
Basic physical and chemical properties: powder from grayish-white to ocher color with a slight smell of vanilla.
Pharmacological properties
In clinical pharmacology studies, diosmectite has demonstrated the ability to:
- adsorb gas in the intestines in adults;
- restore normal mucosal permeability (in a clinical study in children with gastroenteritis).
Due to the valve structure and high plastic viscosity, diosmectite has a high enveloping ability on the mucous membrane of the digestive tract.
The pooled results of two double-blind, randomized trials comparing Smectosorb powder to placebo in 602 patients 1 to 36 months of age with acute diarrhea showed a significant reduction in bowel movements within the first 72 hours Smectosorb powder when combined with oral rehydration.
Indications for use
It can be used in dietary rations as an enterosorbent – a source of natural zeolite, helps to stabilize the mucous barrier of the gastrointestinal tract and to eliminate toxic substances from the body.
Use during pregnancy or lactation
It is not recommended to use Smectosorb powder during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Mode of application
The contents of the package must be dissolved in 0.5 glass of warm water to form a suspension immediately before use.
The dietary supplement Smectosorb powder is recommended to be consumed between meals.
Adults and children over the age of 14 should take 3 sachets per day (on average).
The duration of the course of consumption is from 3 to 7 days, or as recommended by a doctor.
Children
Apply to the treatment of children from 14 years.
Overdose
Overdose can lead to severe constipation or bezoar formation.
Side effects
The most commonly reported adverse reaction during treatment is constipation. If constipation occurs, treatment with diosmectite should be discontinued and, if necessary, restored at a lower dose.
It is not a drug.
