Sudocrem (zinc oxide) cream for external use 125 g. vial
Composition
active substances: 1 g of cream contains zinc oxide 15.25% (m / m), benzyl alcohol 0.39% (m / m), benzyl benzoate 1.01% (m / m), benzyl cinnamate 0.15% / m);
Excipients: lanolin, purified water, sodium benzoate (E 211), paraffin wax, synthetic beeswax, microcrystalline wax, sorbitan sesquioleate, propylene glycol, linalilacetate, lavender flavoring, mineral oil, antioxidant hydrochloride, antioxidant E 320).

Pharmacological properties
Zinc oxide has antiseptic, astringent and anti-inflammatory effects. When applied to the skin, it relieves irritation and heals minor burns and shallow wounds.
Benzyl alcohol has a local anesthetic effect with disinfectant properties.
Benzyl benzoate has an antiseptic effect, also acts as a soluble substance.
Benzyl cinnamate is a synthesized substance from benzyl alcohol and cinnamic acid, which has antibacterial and antifungal action.
Indications
Sudocrem is used as a treatment for diaper dermatitis. Also, the use of the drug is possible in the treatment of eczema, bedsores, acne, thermal burns of I and II degrees of severity, superficial wounds, light frostbite and sunburn.
Contraindications
Sudocremis contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to its components. In addition, the drug must not be used in the treatment of purulent-inflammatory skin lesions.
When using Sudocrem, it is necessary to avoid getting the drug into the eyes and mucous membranes. If the cream gets into the eyes or on the mucous membranes, they must be immediately rinsed with cold water.
If no improvement is observed when using the drug or, on the contrary, the patient’s condition worsens, you should consult with your doctor about the advisability of further treatment with Sudocrem.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Sudocrem, subject to the basic rules of use, is non-toxic and does not actually penetrate into the bloodstream, which allows it to be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of the drug is possible only after consulting a doctor.
Method of administration and dosage
Sudocrem is intended for external use only. The application of the cream must be done with each diaper change or as needed.
When using, the cream should be applied in a thin, even layer over the entire skin surface. The preparation is rubbed in with light circular movements until completely absorbed. After applying Sudocrem, a transparent film should remain on the skin. If the first application of the cream was not enough, then it is recommended to apply a small amount of the preparation to cover the entire area of the skin. In the event that, after applying the cream, the skin area turns white, this indicates that too much of the drug was applied. It is not recommended to wash off excess cream, they should simply be removed with a dry napkin.
When using Sudocrem, it must be borne in mind that to achieve the maximum therapeutic effect, it is quite enough to use a small amount of the drug.
Sudocrem can be used regardless of the type of skin and age of the patient.
Overdose
With local use of Sudocrem cream for external use, overdose is impossible. However, when the drug is taken orally or applied to the mucous membranes, the patient may experience vomiting and diarrhea. In addition, oral administration of the cream can have a stimulating effect on the central nervous system and cause the patient to develop seizures.
To stabilize the patient’s condition, he is prescribed the intake of enerosorbents and symptomatic treatment.
Side effects
When using Sudocrem at the site of application of the drug, the patient may experience allergic reactions, accompanied by redness, skin rashes, increased peeling and itching. Also, if the patient suffers from hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, he may experience urticaria or contact dermatitis.
