Sumamed (Azithromycin) Powder for Oral Suspension Strawberry Flavor 100 mg/5 ml. 400 mg. 20 ml. Vial

Ingredients:

Each 5 ml of the oral suspension contains 100 mg of azithromycin. Other ingredients include sucrose, sodium phosphate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, xanthan gum, and strawberry flavor.

Dosage:

The recommended dosage for Sumamed oral suspension is as follows:

• Children under 45 kg: 10 mg/kg as a single dose on the first day, followed by 5 mg/kg once daily on days 2 to 5.
• Adults and children over 45 kg: 500 mg as a single dose on the first day, followed by 250 mg once daily on days 2 to 5.

Indications:

Sumamed is indicated for the treatment of: respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, and sexually transmitted diseases caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Contraindications:

Do not use Sumamed if: you are allergic to azithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics, or if you have liver disease.

Directions:

Shake the suspension well before each use. Measure the dose using the provided measuring device. Take Sumamed on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
