Description
Trombocid (pentosan polysulphate sodium) 15 mg/g gel 40 g. tube
Composition
active ingredient: pentosan polysulphate sodium;
1 g of gel contains pentosan polysulfate sodium salt 15 mg;
excipients: purified water, isopropyl alcohol, triethanolamine, carbomer, rosemary oil, mountain pine oil, lemon balm oil.
Dosage form
Gel. Transparent colorless gel with a pleasant smell.
Pharmacological group
Vasoprotectors. Anti-varicose agents. Heparin or heparinoids for topical use.

Pharmacological properties
The drug belongs to the group of capillary stabilizing agents, which has an antispasmodic, anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effect. The medicinal properties of the drug help to increase the tone of the venous wall, reduce peripheral edema, tension, pain, itching, fatigue and heaviness in the legs.

Contraindications
The use of the drug is contraindicated in childhood, in the presence of individual intolerance to the components that make up the composition, any skin lesions, for example, burns, open wounds or eczema, as well as to elderly people, children under 6 years old and simultaneously with other drugs that affect the process of blood clotting.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding period
The drug can be used by women during pregnancy and lactation, but only upon the recommendation of the attending physician.
Mode of application
The drug Trombocid gel is intended for external use.
It is necessary to apply the gel in an even thin layer on the affected skin areas 3 times a day.
The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor, depending on the severity of the course of the disease. If the application does not give a positive result, there are signs of infection of the skin or the symptoms intensify, the drug should be canceled and the doctor should be consulted, therefore, the expediency of further use.
Do not apply the gel during heating procedures or under an occlusive dressing, elastic stockings, bandage, and also on damaged skin areas.
If an appointment was missed, you should not use a double dose, but continue treatment according to the instructions or recommendations of the doctor.
After applying the drug, hands should be washed with warm water and soap.
Overdose
No cases of intoxication with Trombocid gel have been reported. If the gel is used in a dosage significantly higher than the recommended dose, an increased manifestation of adverse reactions is possible.
Adverse reactions
The drug Trombocid gel in some cases can cause hypersensitivity reactions: burning, skin irritation, swelling, urticaria, hemorrhages, angioedema, small blisters, as well as the manifestation of allergies in the form of inflammatory rashes, erythema and itching.
If any side effects appear, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted regarding further use.
