Albumin is a protein fraction of human blood plasma. When administered intravenously to a recipient, albumin maintains the oncotic pressure of circulating blood, quickly increases blood pressure, promotes the entry of tissue fluid into the bloodstream and its retention, takes part in metabolic processes between tissues and blood, and is a source of protein nutrition for the body.

D0sage and Administration.

The drug is administered intravenously drip at a rate that does not exceed 50-60 drops per minute. The dose is set individually. A single dose depends on the condition of the patient and may be limited to 100 ml. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 300 ml.

Side effects.

Sometimes there may be a short-term increase in temperature, rarely – back pain, urticaria. Any suspicion of an allergic or anaphylactic reaction requires immediate discontinuation of the drug. If shock develops, standard anti-shock therapy should be used.

Contraindications.

T -thrombosis, arterial hypertension, internal bleeding, hypersensitivity to blood protein preparations. Albumin 20% solution is used with caution if hypervolemia and its consequences, or hemodilution may pose a particular risk to the patient. Examples of such conditions are: decompensated heart failure, varicose veins, pulmonary edema, hemorrhagic diathesis, severe anemia, renal and postrenal insufficiency.
