Description
Urea is able to retain moisture in the skin and, in particular, in keratinized skin.
The small molecular weight of urea allows it to easily penetrate into the deep layers of the epidermis. It is urea that makes the skin soft and supple. Urea is found in healthy skin.
Urea is a natural substance close to the skin, it is well tolerated by the skin and does not cause allergic reactions.
Over time, the urea content of the skin is reduced by half. In the case of certain skin diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, the urea content of the skin is drastically reduced.
Along with moisturizing properties, urea has a keratolytic effect, therefore, the skin is quickly softened and hard flakes are peeled off.
