Polidexa Composition and form of release
Polidexa are ear drops that come in a bottle. The drug contains neomycin sulfate, dexamethasone sodium metasulfobenzoate, polymyxin B sulfate.

Indications
Polidexa is a remedy that is used to treat otitis externa and eczema of the ear canal, accompanied by a secondary infection. It can also be used in the treatment of otitis media, but only if the patient does not have a defect in the tympanic membrane.

Contraindications
The drug is not prescribed if the patient has damage to the tympanic membrane of traumatic or infectious origin. Treatment with the drug is also contraindicated in case of intolerance or hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy, Polidexa is prescribed with great care due to its ototoxicity to the fetus. Breastfeeding is not a contraindication for the use of the drug.

Method of administration and dosage
For adults in the treatment of Polidexa, 1 to 5 drops are prescribed in each ear canal, twice a day. On average, the course of drug treatment lasts from six to ten days. When treating children, the drug is prescribed from one to two drops in both ear canals twice a day. The duration of treatment is from six to ten days. Before using the drops, it is recommended to first warm it up a little, having previously held it in your hand.

Overdose
At the moment, no cases of overdose have been registered in medicine.

Side effects
When using the drug, the development of local allergic reactions is sometimes observed, manifested by a rash and itching in the area of ​​the external auditory canal. Also, in the absence or damage to the tympanic membrane in some patients during the treatment of Polydex, toxic damage to the vestibular apparatus or the auditory canal is observed.

Storage conditions and periods
Ear drops are stored in a dry and dark place at an ambient temperature not exceeding 25 degrees. Polydex is stored for no more than three years.
