Indications

Contraindications
The drug should not be used if there is a suspicion that the patient is currently developing angle-closure glaucoma or has kidney disease. It is forbidden to use it simultaneously with treatment with MAO inhibitors (a special group of antidepressants). Contraindicated in viral infections, as well as in hypersensitivity to drug components.
It is forbidden to prescribe the drug if the patient suffers from severe coronary insufficiency, severe or severely treatable hypertension, as well as if he occasionally has convulsions.
Do not use the drug if the patient has nasal infections that are caused by the herpes virus or chickenpox.

Method of administration and dosage
Adults – 1 injection 3-5 times a day. Children over 15 years old – 1 injection 3 times a day. The course of treatment is up to 5 days. Do not swallow Polidexa with phenylephrine!
When injecting, the bottle should be held vertically, at the same time the head should be tilted forward. Otherwise, the medicine will enter the nasal passage in the form of a stream of water, and not a spray, which will not have the desired therapeutic effect.

Overdose
If the course of treatment is exceeded, or if the recommended dose is significantly exceeded, the drug can cause hypothermia, respiratory depression, sedation and, finally, coma.

Side effects
There may be negative side effects such as tachycardia, myocardial infarction. The gastrointestinal tract can respond to ingestion by nausea, vomiting, and dry mouth. Sleep disturbances are possible in the form of insomnia caused by excitement of the nervous system, ischemic stroke and convulsions may develop. With diseases of the genitourinary system, difficulty in urinating may occur. Itching, hives, and rashes may occur on the skin.
