Scientific Evidence
Losartan, the active ingredient in Closart tablets, is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that works by relaxing blood vessels. Studies have shown that losartan is effective in lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events. Research published in the Journal of Hypertension demonstrated the efficacy of losartan in improving cardiovascular outcomes in hypertensive patients.
Additional Information
It is important to regularly monitor blood pressure levels while taking Closart tablets. Inform your healthcare provider about any other medications or supplements you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions. In case of any adverse reactions or concerns, seek medical help immediately.
Pharmacological Effects: Losartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict. By blocking this action, losartan helps blood vessels relax and widen, lowering blood pressure.
Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that losartan is as effective as other antihypertensive medications in reducing blood pressure. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine compared the efficacy of losartan with atenolol and found similar cardiovascular outcomes in patients with hypertension.
