Scientific Evidence
Desloratadine, the active ingredient in Dezloratadin syrup, is a selective H1-antihistamine that effectively blocks histamine receptors, providing relief from allergy symptoms. Studies have shown that desloratadine is non-sedating and well-tolerated, making it a preferred choice for long-term management of allergic conditions.
Additional Information
It is important to store Dezloratadin syrup at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule.
Pharmacological Effects: Desloratadine works by selectively blocking H1 receptors, thereby inhibiting the action of histamine. This action helps in reducing the symptoms of allergic reactions, such as itching, sneezing, and runny nose.
Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of desloratadine in providing relief from allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria with minimal side effects. A study published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology showed that desloratadine significantly improved quality of life measures in patients with allergic rhinitis.
