Dioflan Composition
active substance: heparin;

1 g of gel contains sodium heparin in terms of heparin 6.25 mg (1000 U);

Dioflan excipients: glycerin, propylene glycol, ethanol 96%, methylparaben (methyl parahydroxybenzoate) (E 218), propylparaben (propyl parahydroxybenzoate) (E 216), carbomer 934 R, 15% ammonia solution, purified water.

Basic physical and chemical properties: transparent, colorless gel, with a specific odor, uniform consistency.

Pharmacodynamics
Dioflan gel, when applied to the skin, has an anti-edematous, anti-exudative, anti-inflammatory and anti-agulatory effect.

Pharmacokinetics
Heparin is detected in blood plasma within 24 hours after drug administration, while the peak heparin concentration is reached after 8 hours. Excretion is carried out mainly by the kidneys. The drug applied to the skin does not affect the parameters of blood coagulation.

Indications

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to heparin or to any other components of the drug, including parabens (nipagin, nipazole); bleeding trophic leg ulcers; open and / or infected wounds; hemorrhagic diathesis; purpura; thrombocytopenia; hemophilia. Bleeding tendency.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
The use of heparin can help prolong the prothrombin time in patients taking oral anticoagulants. The drug should not be used together with drugs for topical use, for example, with drugs containing tetracycline, hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, with anticoagulants.

Application features
The gel is applied only to intact skin. The drug is not applied to open wounds, infected skin areas in the presence of purulent processes, mucous membranes, eyes and areas around the eyes, ulcers and blisters. If the patient has hemorrhagic symptoms, the possibility of using the drug Dioflan should be carefully weighed. The drug should not be prescribed for bleeding. In case of blood clotting disorders, the gel is not recommended to be applied to large areas of the skin. When treating phlebitis, this drug should not be rubbed into the skin.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or operating machinery
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.

Use during pregnancy or lactation
There are no data on the use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation.

Method of administration and dosage
For adults, use the drug 1-3 times a day. Apply 3-10 cm of gel to the affected skin area and rub gently. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually, taking into account the severity of the course of the disease.

Children
Due to the limited experience of use, the drug should not be prescribed to children.

Overdose
The phenomena of drug overdose have not yet been described. Due to the insignificant systemic absorption, there is no danger of an overdose of the drug when applied topically. The child may experience nausea or vomiting due to accidental oral administration of the gel. In this case, you need to flush the stomach, and if necessary, prescribe symptomatic therapy. The action of heparin can be neutralized with protamine sulfate.

Adverse Reactions
In some cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, such as redness, itching and swelling of the skin, burning sensation, skin rash, urticaria, angioedema, hemorrhages, sometimes – the appearance of small pustules, vesicles or blisters, which quickly disappear after discontinuation of the drug. When applied to large areas of the skin, systemic adverse reactions are possible.
