Eucaliptus Dosage form.
Tincture.
Main physical and chemical properties: transparent greenish-brown liquid with a specific odor. During storage, precipitation is allowed.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Means used in diseases of the throat. Antiseptics. ATX code R02A A20.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
Eucalyptus tincture contains tannins, ellagic acid, flavonoids, resins, waxes, essential oil, which contains various terpene compounds, especially active against gram-positive, gram-negative microorganisms that have a detrimental effect on fungi and protozoa. Eucalyptus inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, tuberculous mycobacteria, Trichomonas, dysentery amoeba. The main component of the essential oil is cineolemonocyclic terpene. Eucalyptus tincture has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and disinfectant action, which is due to the oxidizing effect of cineolemonocyclic terpene and anti-inflammatory effects associated with almost all physiologically active substances that are part of it. The drug also has a moderate sedative (calming) effect.

Clinical characteristics.
Indication. Inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract, nasopharynx and oral cavity (tracheitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, gingivitis, stomatitis), skin damage (including infected wounds), as well as mild forms of neurotic disorders (irritability, emotional lability, sleep disorders) and sleep.
Contraindication. Bronchial asthma, bronchospasm. Inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract. Severe liver disease. Individual hypersensitivity to the drug.
Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions. Not installed.
Eucaliptus Features of application.
As the drug contains ethanol, the tincture is not recommended to take for a long time.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
As the drug contains ethyl alcohol, the tincture is not recommended for use orally in women during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a car or other machinery.
When taking Eucalyptus tincture internally should refrain from driving and working with potentially dangerous mechanisms.
Method of application and dosage.
Eucalyptus tincture to take orally, as well as used for rinsing and steam inhalation.
Adults are recommended to take orally 15-30 drops of tincture 3-4 times a day after meals. Children over 12 years of age at the rate of 1 drop for 1 year of life 3-4 times a day after meals.
To rinse, dilute 10-15 drops of tincture in 200 ml of warm boiled water.
Steam inhalations should be performed using inhalers of any type, using Eucalyptus tincture in the undiluted state or after preliminary dilution with water (as for rinsing).
The duration of the drug depends on the achieved therapeutic effect, which is determined by the doctor.
