Fluoxetin №20 Storage:

active substance: fluoxetine;

1 tablet contains fluoxetine hydrochloride 20 mg;

excipients: lactose monohydrate; corn starch; sugar; talc; calcium stearate; gelatin; opadray II white, containing: titanium dioxide (E 171), talc, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol; sepispers dry yellow R.

Clinical characteristics.

Fluoxetin №10 Indication.

Major depressive episodes / disorders.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Bulimia nervosa: as part of complex psychotherapy to reduce uncontrolled eating and to cleanse the intestines.

Contraindication.

Hypersensitivity to fluoxetine or to any other components of the drug.

Severe hepatic and renal failure, epilepsy, a history of convulsions, suicidal ideation, glaucoma, bladder atony, benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Concomitant use with MAO inhibitors. The interval between the end of MAO inhibitor therapy and the start of fluoxetine treatment should be at least 14 days. The interval between the end of fluoxetine treatment and the start of treatment with MAO inhibitors should be at least 5 weeks.

Method of application and dosage.

The drug is taken orally regardless of the time of meal.

Major depressive episodes / disorders.

Fluoxetine therapy should be started with 20 mg per day in one morning, this dose is sufficient to achieve an antidepressant effect. If clinically necessary, 3-4 weeks after the start of therapy, the dose can be increased to 20 mg 2 times a day; Although increasing the dose may increase the side effects, for some patients with an inadequate response to treatment at a dose of 20 mg, the dose may be gradually increased to 60 mg per day. The dose is increased individually and with caution, therapy should be started with the minimum effective dose.

Patients with depressive disorders should be treated for a sufficient period of at least 6 months to ensure that there are no symptoms of the disease.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The usual recommended dose is 20 mg per day. Although increasing the dose may increase the side effects, for some patients who do not respond well to treatment within 2 weeks, the dose of 20 mg may be gradually increased to 60 mg per day.
