Description
Active substance: St. John’s wort (Hyperici herba);
1 pack contains St. John’s wort (Hyperici herba) 60 g or 75 g;
1 filter bag contains St. John’s wort (Hyperici herba) 1.5 g.
Dosage form Herb. Basic physical and chemical properties: pieces of stems, leaves, flowers of various shapes and immature fruits, greenish-yellow, green, grayish-green, dark green, greenish-brown, bright yellow or yellow with black dots, sometimes pink-violet.

Drugs affecting the digestive system and metabolism. It is used in dentistry.
Pharmacological properties
Biologically active substances of St. John’s wort have astringent, anti-inflammatory and some antimicrobial action, which promotes tissue regeneration; moderately affect bile secretion, stimulate gastric secretion.
Indication
As part of the complex therapy of diseases of the biliary tract (biliary dyskinesia, cholecystitis);
gastrointestinal tract (acute and chronic colitis, diarrhea, flatulence, hypoacid gastritis).
In inflammatory processes of the oral cavity (gingivitis, stomatitis).
Contraindication: individual hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug; hypertension.
Method of application and dosage
Place 2 filter bags St. John’s wort grass in a glass or enamel dish, pour 200 ml of boiling water, close and infuse for 15 minutes. Apply warm 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals: adults and children over 16 years – ½ – 1 cup, children aged 12-14 years – ¼ cups, children aged 15-16 years – ½– ¼ glasses.
Externally used for rinsing the mouth.
The prepared infusion should be stored at a temperature of 8-15 ºC for no more than 2 days.
The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.
Overdose
Overdose and prolonged use causes a feeling of bitterness in the mouth, discomfort in the liver.
Side effects:
- increase in blood pressure;
- allergic reactions (redness, rash, swelling and itching of the skin);
- photosensitization (UV radiation should be avoided during treatment).
