Mucosat neo composition
Main active ingredient: chondroitin sulfate.
Auxiliary components are: benzyl alcohol, water for injection.

Release form
It is produced in the form of an injection solution, in ampoules of 2 ml. 1 ampoule contains 200 mg of chondroitin.

Pharmacological properties
Mucosat neo belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs that are used for diseases of the joints and spine.
The main active ingredient, chondroitin, is a polymeric sulfated glycosaminoglycan. It is an integral part of the articular synovial fluid secreted by the cartilage tissue of the joint. Able to suppress the activity of enzymes that cause disruption of the integrity of cartilage tissue.
Chondroitin, as well as its constituent glucosamine, has the property of influencing the metabolic chemical processes occurring in the cartilage tissue, in which calcium and phosphorus participate. The structure is similar to heparin, as a result – prevents the formation of fibrin thrombi. It is able to inhibit the process of resorption of bone tissue, prevents the development of seals of connective tissue. It is a lubricant for the joint surface.
Also, chondroitin has the ability to normalize the production of articular fluid, to take part in the reproduction of the basic substances of bone tissue, as well as cartilage tissue.
As a result, when using this drug, joint mobility improves, the development of osteoarthritis slows down. At the same time, the inflammatory process decreases and pain in the joints affected by the disease decreases.

Indications
Mucosat neo is used to treat degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine. In particular, during treatment:

• osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis;
• primary arthrosis, intervertebral osteochondrosis;
• osteoporosis, periodontal disease;
• fractures, treatment of the consequences of surgical interventions on the joints.

Contraindications
The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or to one of the auxiliary components.
Contraindicated for use when:

• thrombophlebitis (inflammation of the vascular wall, accompanied by the formation of a blood clot);
• bleeding tendency;
• renal failure.

Children
Not used in pediatrics.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Mucosat neo is contraindicated in the treatment of pregnant women.
If it is necessary to administer the drug during breastfeeding, then lactation should be suspended for the duration of treatment.

Method of administration and dosage
Mucosat neo is administered by intramuscular injection. Dosage – 1 ml, administration – every other day. With good tolerance, the dose can be increased to 2 ml per 1 injection, starting from the 4th injection.
The duration of the treatment course is determined individually, depending on the effectiveness and tolerability of therapy. Usually, the average treatment course is 25 to 35 injections.
A repeated course can be carried out with an interval of about 6 months.
The recommended doses should not be exceeded and the duration of the recommended treatment should not be exceeded.

Overdose
There have been no reports of overdose with this drug. In theory, hypersensitivity reactions may increase.
In this case, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor to change the appointment.

Side effects
The drug is generally well tolerated and rarely causes side effects, while being recognized for its safety and easy absorption.
In some cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur. In particular, manifestations are possible:

• itching, redness, erythema, dermatitis, alopecia;
• rash, allergic urticaria;
• anaphylactic shock, angioedema;
• nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, flatulence, dyspeptic symptoms;
• disorders of the organs of vision, keratopathy, dizziness, peripheral edema.

Storage conditions and periods
The shelf life is up to 2 years.
Storage temperature – no higher than 25 ° С.
