Novo-Passit composition
The preparation contains guaifenesin and extracts from the following medicinal plants: root of Valerian officinalis, herb of lemon balm, herb of St. John’s wort, leaves and flowers of hawthorn or black hawthorn, herb of incarnate passionflower, seed hops of common elderberry, flower.

Produced in film-coated tablets.

Indications
Novo-Passit is used to treat mild forms of neurasthenia, which are accompanied by increased anxiety, fear, distraction, fatigue, memory impairment and mental exhaustion. Also, the drug is used for mild forms of sleep disturbance, headaches caused by chronic nervous tension, migraine attacks, increased neuromuscular excitability, climacteric syndrome, vegetative-vascular dystonia, functional diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and dermatoses, accompanied by severe itching.

Contraindications
Novo-Passit is not prescribed for patients with myasthenia gravis, hypersensitivity to the drug components. It is prescribed with extreme caution to patients who suffer from disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, and to children under 12 years of age.
Patients receiving Novo-Passit should refrain from driving and potentially dangerous mechanisms, since taking the drug reduces attention and slows down motor and mental reactions, which can lead to human trauma.

Children
It is used in pediatrics for children over 12 years old.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
The drug can be used in the therapy of pregnant women as prescribed by a doctor. When using the drug in the therapy of women at the lactation stage, the patient should refuse breastfeeding for the duration of treatment.

Method of administration and dosage
In the form of tablets Novo-Passit is taken 1 tablet 3 times a day. In the event that, at the starting dosage, taking the drug does not allow obtaining the desired therapeutic effect, then the dosage may be increased to 2 tablets per dose. If, when taking the drug, the patient experiences severe fatigue, depression and decreased mood, then it is possible to reduce the daily dose, and taking the drug in the evening at the saved starting dose. The interval between taking the drug can vary from 4 to 6 hours.

Overdose
When taking Novo-Passit in high doses, the patient experiences a feeling of depression, drowsiness, nausea, joint pain, slight muscle weakness, heaviness in the stomach.
If symptoms of an overdose occur, the drug should be stopped immediately and the patient should be prescribed the correct symptomatic treatment.

Side effects
As a rule, taking the drug is very rarely accompanied by the development of side effects. In rare cases, patients experience allergic reactions, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, slight muscle weakness, disruption of the digestive system, decreased concentration. Side effects go away very quickly on their own, do not have clinical significance and do not require drug withdrawal.

Storage conditions and periods
Novo-Passit should be stored in its original packaging for no more than 4 years, protected from moisture, dark and out of reach of children.
