Description
Pimafucort composition
The main active ingredients: natamycin, hydrocortisone, neomycin.
Auxiliary components: sorbitan trioleate, lecithin, isopropyl myristate, propellant (propane, butane, isobutane).
Release form
It is produced in the form of a cream, in tubes of 15 grams. 1 gram of cream contains 10 mg of natamycin, 10 mg of hydrocortisone and 3.5 mg of neomycin.
Pharmacological properties
This Pimafucort drug belongs to the group of corticosteroid and antimicrobial drugs, as well as their combinations, intended for the treatment of certain diseases in dermatology.
The effect of the drug is explained by the characteristics of its main active ingredients. The main active ingredients are natamycin, neomycin and hydrocortisone acetate.
Hydrocortisone is a glucocorticosteroid drug that produces mild anti-inflammatory, as well as antiallergic and decongestant (antiexudative) effects.
Neomycin is an antibacterial drug with a wide spectrum of action, to which both gram-positive (staphylococci, enterococci) and gram-negative bacteria (klebsiella, proteus, escherichia) are sensitive.
Natamycin belongs to the group of polyene antibiotics, belongs to macrolides, has a fungicidal effect against fungi of the genus “Candida”.
Indications

Contraindications
The drug in question is contraindicated for use in cases where the patient has severe hypersensitivity (allergy) to the main or to one of the auxiliary components.
Also contraindicated for:
- damage to the skin;
- bacterial infections (pyoderma, syphilitic, tuberculous lesions);
- viral infections (chickenpox, herpes simplex, herpes zoster, common warts, flat warts, genital warts, molluscum contagiosum);
- ulcerative skin lesions, ichthyosis;
- acne vulgaris, rosacea;
- with fragility of skin vessels, skin atrophy;
- with skin neoplasms.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
This drug is contraindicated in the treatment of pregnant women.
If it is necessary to use the drug, if a woman is lactating, then breastfeeding should be suspended for the duration of treatment.
Method of administration and dosage
Pimafucort is intended for dermatological use.
The drug is applied in a thin layer to the affected skin 2-4 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment is determined individually by the doctor, depending on the nature of the disease. The course of treatment, as a rule, should not exceed 14 days.
Pimafucort in this dosage form is most suitable for the treatment of acute and subacute skin conditions as well as for the treatment of hairy and wrinkled areas of the skin.
The correction of the duration of treatment, dosages and treatment regimens is determined by the attending physician individually, depending on the individual indicators of the course of the disease.
Overdose
Overdose for a long period can cause hypercortisolism.
Side effects
The drug is usually well tolerated. In cases of hypersensitivity, reactions such as:
- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;
- rash, dermatitis, allergic urticaria;
- hyperemia, swelling, itching, atrophic skin changes, hypertrichosis;
- skin atrophy, thinning of the skin, telangiectasias, purpura, and stretch marks;
- rosacea-like and perioral dermatitis, with or without skin atrophy;
- the “rebound” effect, which can lead to steroid dependence;
- delayed wound healing;
- depigmentation, hypertrichosis.
Storage conditions and periods
Expiration date – 3 years from the date of manufacture indicated on the package.
The storage temperature should not exceed 25 ° C.
