Description
Pinosol Composition and release form
The preparation contains eucalyptus oil, pine oil, α-tocopherol acetate, thymol, guaiazulene and peppermint oil.
It is made in the form of a nasal spray.
Indications
Pinosol is used in the treatment of non-allergic acute and chronic rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, acute and chronic inflammatory lesions of the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx and nose, accompanied by dry mucous membranes. Also, the drug is used to prevent and treat inflammation of the nasal mucosa before surgery.
Contraindications
Pinosol is not prescribed to patients who have previously been found to be intolerant of its components.
Children
Pinosol in the form of drops is not used in the treatment of children under two years old, in the form of a spray – 3 years old.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Due to the lack of data on the effect of the components of the drug on the development of the fetus and newborn, the use of Pinosol in the therapy of nursing and pregnant women is possible only for vital indications.
Method of administration and dosage
Spray Pinosol is taken for injection into the nasal passages from 3 to 6 times a day, 1 dose. Before using the spray, it is recommended to remove the protective cap, and then, by lightly pressing, inject the drug into the nose. After opening the box, before using the spray, it is recommended to make two clicks on the dosing pump to the side for accurate dosing of the drug.
The duration of the treatment course does not exceed 10 days. An increase in the duration of treatment is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor.
Overdose
The drug has low adsorption, and therefore does not actually penetrate into the bloodstream, and therefore an overdose of the drug is impossible.
Side effects
When treating with the drug, patients develop local allergic reactions, accompanied by itching, swelling and redness of the nasal mucosa. In addition, sometimes after using the drug, a burning sensation and numbness of the nasal mucosa may appear.
Storage conditions and periods
Pinosol should be stored in places well protected from light and out of reach of children. Storage duration is 2 years.
