Composition
active substance: wormwood herb tincture (Absinthii herba) (1: 5) (extractant – ethanol 70%);
1 bottle contains tinctures of wormwood (Absinthii herba) (1: 5) (extractant – ethanol 70%) – 25 ml or 50 ml.
Dosage form
Tincture.
Main physical and chemical properties: clear liquid brownish-green color, with a characteristic odor, with a bitter taste. A mixture of the drug with water (2: 1) gives a cloudy solution. The formation of a precipitate during storage is allowed.

Pharmacological properties
Wormwood tincture contains bitterness. The mechanism of action of the drug is due to irritation of sensitive nerve endings – taste receptors of the mucous membranes of the mouth, tongue, which reflexively increases the secretion of gastric juice, increases appetite, improves digestion.
Indication
Hypoacid and anacid gastritis, anorexia – as part of complex therapy.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Increased gastric secretion, gastric and duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis, gallstone disease, epilepsy. Presence of a history of bleeding from the pelvic organs; anemia.

Ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a car or other machinery
Because the drug contains ethanol, it may affect the ability to drive or operate potentially hazardous mechanisms, therefore, during treatment with the drug should refrain from working with potentially hazardous mechanisms.
Method of application and dosage
Wormwood tincture for adults and children over 12 years of age to take 15-20 drops 3 times a day for 15-30 minutes before eating. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually and depends on the severity of the disease, the nature of concomitant therapy, the effect achieved.
Children
Do not use in children under 12 years of age. Children over 12 years of age are prescribed by a doctor.
Overdose
Use in high doses, especially long-term, can lead to poisoning – the development of seizures, hallucinations, loss of consciousness.
With prolonged use, atonic constipation is possible.
Treatment. Symptomatic.
Side effects
Prolonged use of wormwood tincture can cause so-called wormwood epilepsy. Nausea, vomiting, possible hypersensitivity reactions (including redness, rash, itching). If you experience any side effects, stop taking the drug and be sure to consult a doctor.
