Pharmacological properties
Oftan Catachrom – refers to the drugs that are used as trophic medicines in the treatment of ophthalmology (eye diseases).
The basis of the mechanism of the therapeutic action of Oftan Catachrom is primarily the antioxidant effect of its active ingredients. In particular, cytochrome plays an important role in the biochemical processes of all aerobic organisms, and with cataracts (clouding of the eye lens), a decrease in its concentration in the lens is observed. Adenosine is an essential element for DNA repair, nourishes the lens and cornea, promotes the elimination of toxic decay products, stimulates the production and exchange of intraocular fluid, due to vasodilation and an increase in the intensity of the ocular blood supply. Nicotinamide is a structural element that is an indispensable component of the synthesis of the water-soluble vitamin niacin. All substances contained in Oftan Catachrom thus help to prevent the development of cataracts, because with their help, the ability to regenerate the cells of the eye lens is restored.

Method of administration and dosage
It is recommended to bury the eyes 1-2 drops three times a day. Overdose
Overdose cases were not recorded. If the dose is accidentally exceeded, treat the symptoms.

Side effects
The drug is usually well tolerated by patients, with few side effects reported. In particular, there have been cases of short-term eye pain and irritation. Occasionally, manifestations of hypersensitivity were observed, including skin rash, hyperemia, facial edema, allergic conjunctivitis, lacrimation, arterial hypotension, nausea, shortness of breath.

Storage conditions and periods
Oftan Catachrom retains its medicinal properties for up to 3 years at temperatures from +8 to 15 ° C. However, it should be noted that after the bottle has been opened, Oftan katakhrom is valid for only 28 days.
